Current state:

Modern energy management systems collect telemetry data at high frequency. In this case study, approximately every 30 seconds, to monitor various energy-related parameters. While this approach offers granularity, it also introduces significant challenges:

  • High Noise Levels: Measurement errors introduce substantial noise into the data, complicating analysis and reducing trust in statistics.
  • Data Volume: The real-time measurement generates a huge amount of data that requires aggregation to remain interpretable and manageable. However, traditional aggregation methods often sacrifice quality or detail.

UNITE partnered with OWASmooth to address these challenges using advanced data smoothing and reduction technologies.
